Family Search: Private William Samuel Ellery was born on 6 August 1893, in Southwark, London, England, United Kingdom as the son of George James Ellery and Mrs. Jane Ellery. He immigrated to Quebec City, Quebec, Canada in 1909. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1914, at the age of 21, his occupation is listed as farmer in Campbellton, Oxford, Ontario, Canada. He died on 14 September 1918, in Baralle, Pas-de-Calais, France, at the age of 25, and was buried in Vimy, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.
