He immigrated to United States in 1912 and lived in White Waltham, Berkshire, England, United Kingdom in 1901 and Haywards Heath, Sussex, England, United Kingdom in 1911. He registered for military service in 1914. In 1914, at the age of 21, his occupation is listed as farming. He died on 8 August 1918, in Marcelcave, Somme, Picardie, France, at the age of 24, and was buried in Villers-Bretonneux, Somme, Picardie, France.

On October 26, 1914, at London, Ontario, this man enlisted with the 18th Battalion. He was a 21-year old farmer. He went overseas to England with the Battalion, trained at West Sandling and served in France and Belgium, being wounded September 1916 at the Somme. He was promoted successively until reaching the rank of Sergeant on March 21, 1918. He was killed in action on August 8, 1918.
