He immigrated to Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, United States in 1923 and lived in Kent, Ontario, Canada for about 10 years. He registered for military service in 1914. In 1914, at the age of 23, his occupation is listed as fireman. He died on 29 April 1955, in Essex, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 64, and was buried in Oldcastle, Tecumseh, Essex, Ontario, Canada.
