Family Search: When Private Leonard Claude McMullen was born on 28 November 1898, in Enniskillen, Lambton, Ontario, Canada, his father, William Claude McMullin, was 31 and his mother, Irene Tiderington, was 28. He lived in Bothwell, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada in 1901 and Sarnia, Lambton, Ontario, Canada in 1916. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 18, his occupation is listed as labourer in Sarnia, Lambton, Ontario, Canada. He died on 25 May 1918, in Neuville-Vitasse, Pas-de-Calais, France, at the age of 19, and was buried in Wailly Orchard Cemetery, Wailly, Pas-de-Calais, France.
PTE LEONARD C. McMULLEN. SARNIA
Enlisted with the 149th Battalon, on February 4th, 1916. Transferred to 18th Battalion. Killed in action at Arras, May 25th, 1918. Buried in Wailly Orchard Cemetery, Arras, France. Age 20 years. Pte. McMullen was a all-round athlete, also a great reader and musician. He was a popular member and willing working in all branches connected with the Devine St. Methodist Church, Sarnia.
