This soldier was TOS with the 18th Battalion on May 28, 1917. It was on this date he arrived at No. 2 Canadian Infantry Base Depot (2 Can. IBD) at Etaples, France. He joined the 18th on June 15, 1917 and served with the Battalion until wounded a second time on April 19, 1918.

During that time, the Battalion was stationed NEUVILLE-ST-VAST in the Vimy Sector and moved to the Barlin area near Hersin-Coupigny.

He was wounded July 22, 1917, returned to service on the 28th attached to the 4th Canadian Trench Mortar Battery and then returned to the 18th Battalion on October 12, 1917. He served with the Battalion until April 2, 1918, when he was wounded and sent to England to recover from his wounds.
