From @avidgenie: “He married Charlotte Gregory at Bolton, Lancashire in 1918. He was from Bolton so she may have been a childhood sweetheart. They came to Canada on the Melita in July 1919 and were living in Toronto in the 1921 Canadian Census with their young son Jack.”
