Family Search: When Private Norman Wilbert Belcher was born on 9 September 1892, in London, Ontario, Canada, his father, Alfred James Belcher, was 21 and his mother, Rose Bundy, was 17. He lived in London, Ontario, Canada West, British Colonial America in 1901. He registered for military service in 1915. He died on 3 March 1929, in Middlesex, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 36, and was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

The two Belcher brothers both served together in the 18th Battalion. Belcher, Cecil Russell:  Service no. 123194 was killed in action on April 9, 1917.

Their father, Alfred James Belcher also enlisted with the 70th Battalion with the regimental number of 123512.
