Family Search: When Charles Earl McIntosh was born on 24 August 1889, in Sarnia, Lambton, Ontario, Canada, his father, James Mason McIntosh, was 39 and his mother, Elizabeth Stevenson, was 33. He had at least 2 daughters with Eleanor Sara Fuller. He lived in Lambton, Ontario, Canada, for about 10 years. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1952, at the age of 63, his occupation is listed as chef, Canada Steamship Lines in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He died on 8 April 1953, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 63, and was buried in York Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

This soldier enlisted with the 149th Battalion on January 26, 1916. He was shipped to England with his battalion and was transferred to the 18th Battalion on March 29, 1918. He arrived in the field on August 8, 1918, and served with the Battalion for the rest of the war, being discharged at London, Ontario, on May 24, 1919, when the Battalion was disbanded.

Charles E. McIntosh

Veteran of the First World War, Charles Earl McIntosh, who served overseas with the 149th Battalion, died yesterday at the Red Chevron Hospital. For some years a Canada Steamship Lines chef, he retired 18 months ago because of ill health. Mr. McIntosh was born in Sarnia and in recent years had lived in Montreal and Toronto. He leaves a daughter, Gladys McIntosh, and two sisters, Mrs. Orlo Frayne and Helen McIntosh.
