Citation:

During the operation at Iwuy, on 10th/11th October, 1918, he took command of the section when his section commander was killed, and led the forward. Throughout he showed great gallantry and initiative and rendered valuable service.

Private John Henry Yahba served with the 18th Canadian Infantry Battalion, CEF, following the breakup of the 160th Battalion in Feb. of 1918. He was an original enlistee into the 135th Canadian Infantry Battalion which explains his service number being outside the number block assigned to the 160th Battalion. His date of transfer to the 160th was Jan. 31, 1916.
