This soldier, a waiter in peace-time, enlisted June 26, 1915, at Ottawa, Ontario. He was 21-years-old and unmarried. Originally with the 59th Battalion, he was transferred to the 39th Battalion and arrived in England on September 5, 1915.

On May 31, 1916, he was transferred to the 18th Battalion and proceeded to his new unit. He arrived on June 2, 1916, and served with the Battalion until he was killed in action during the attack during the Battle of Flers-Coucelette at the Somme. He was originally listed as missing but was later deemed to have perished on September 15, 1916.
