Robert Leo Willsie was the son of Asa Willsie and his wife Fannie Geddes.
Robert was twice married. His first wife was the divorced Clara Alberta “Berty” Jones ( nee Dyer), daughter of James Augustus Dyer and his wife Mary Ellen Trumbull. They were married September 11, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Clara brought two sons into the marriage, both of whom used “Willsie” as their surname.

Robert and Clara had two daughters:
1. Pauline Ellen Willsie, born March 17, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan. She married J.C Gann, son of B.L.Gann and Leila Apple, on September 20, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. Pauline died September 15, 1949 in Northville, Wayne County, Michigan.
2. Shirley Mae Willsie, born May 3, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan. She married Patrick Pattersonon June 6, 1945 in Melvindale, Wayne County, Michigan. Shirley died May 15, 2006.
Robert and Clara divorced February 9, 1931 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.
Robert remarried to the divorced Florence Lillian McNally, nee Palmby, daughter of Walter Palmby and his wife Florence E. Templar, on November 24, 1934 in the city of London, Middlesex County, Ontario.”
