He died on 13 April 1968, in Clinton, Huron, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 74, and was buried in Bayfield Cemetery, Bayfield, Bluewater, Huron, Ontario, Canada.

Brother to Toms, Hugh Wilfred: Service no. 654440 of the 18th Battalion. He served in the 18th Battalion and was killed in action. He was wounded on the same day his brother died.
