Private Cumming, reg. no. 54006 was an “Original” but his trade as a granite cutter led him to serve with the 2nd Canadian Tunneling Company, 4th Brigade. During his service he was driving an ammunition limber and the horses shied and he fell off the wagon and fell under a wheel, fracturing his right femur. This is an interesting study of his x-rays showing the fracture and the repair using a plate and screws.
