Served in Spanish-American war-1898 and Philippines Insurrection 1899-1901
Enlisted in the US Army September 4, 1907 and Discharged August 17, 1910
Re-enlisted October 17, 1910 and Discharged July 13, 1912 [Note: He would have been 12-years old if this was correct.)

Enlisted in the Canadian Army March 23, 1915 at Windsor, Ontario, served in First World War in Canada, England, France, Belgium and went through Battle of the Somme, discharged at Halifax, Nova Scotia on March 23, 1919.

When he was discharged from the Army he returned to UK for wife, Nora and child Albert.Worked for awhile at Ford in UK. Then when they opened a plant in Michigan he transferred there. (Information given by Pam Mitchell).

His occupation on his marriage certificate was “Private in 18th Canadian Army.”His father (dead by then) had been a miner.

Harry, Nora, and son Albert returned from England by military ship, they came in thru Halifax, Ont., to Windsor, Canada, then to Detroit.
