"Killed in Action" He was attached to the 250th Company Royal Engineers, and while on duty with a party repairing the Vierstraat-Wyschaete Road at 11 a.m. on the 1st July, 1917, they were subjected to shell fire from a high velocity gun, Private McNally was instantly killed by a shell-burst, his body being badly shattered, and filled with splinters from it.
