Family Search: When Private Frederick Guy was born on 5 January 1888, in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, his father, William John Guy, was 26 and his mother, Annie Guy, was 27. He immigrated to Canada in 1913. He registered for military service in 1914. In 1914, at the age of 26, his occupation is listed as labourer. He died on 3 October 1954, in York, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 66, and was buried in York Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Note that this soldier originally attested at Woodstock, Ontario, on October 24, 1914 with the 18th Battalion. His service file does not reflect the circumstances of that service but he was drafted later in the war and served with the 102nd Battalion.
