This soldier’s brother, Private George Arthur Freedland, reg. no. 213516 served with a sister battalion of the 18th, the 19th. On 9 May 1917 he went “missing” and was “presumed killed.” He is memorialized at the Vimy Memorial.

The photograph below is graffiti created by Private G.A. Freedland near Mont-Saint-Éloi, France. This is near the Vimy Memorial. The graffiti is of the soldier’s initials and identifies as being from the 19th Battalion.
