Family Search: When Private William Thomas Freeman was born on 11 February 1888, in City of London, England, United Kingdom, his father, Frederick Thomas Freeman, was 29 and his mother, Susan Sophia Morris, was 31. He immigrated to Canada in 1914. He registered for military service in 1914. In 1914, at the age of 26, his occupation is listed as farmer. He died on 10 April 1917, in Barlin, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France, at the age of 29.

Attended Trinity School. The following record is noted – School Record: Listed in Lower Third Form 1st term 1901 and Lower Fifth Form 2nd term 1903.

Killed in action. He enlisted here in the 18th Battalion. His brother lives at 355 Simcoe Street. He was farming at Mt. Elgin when he enlisted. His parents live in England

Son of Frederick Thomas and Susan Sophia Freeman, of Thornton Heath, Surrey, England.

“Died of Wounds” He was severely wounded by enemy shell fire on April 9th, 1917. After being attended to he was taken to No. 6 Casualty Clearing Station, where he succumbed the next day.
