Son of Dr. John McCrimmon of Kincardine Ontario, who was instrumental in the incorporation of the Kincardine and District Hospital in 1908. Father to his only son, Lieutenant Ian James McCrimmon who was killed during service in Europe with the Sherbrooke Fusiliers Regiment, R.C.A.C. on August 13, 1944.
Later, Major Mcrimmon was presented with an OBE while he was Director of the Rio Light and Power Company, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Supplement to the Gazette. July 1, 1946. Page 3335.

McCrimmon, Major K.H. – Captain and acting Major Kenneth Howard McCrimmon, Arts ’13, who was reported accidently wounded early in June, originally enlisted as Salvage Officer with the First Canadian division and in such capacity rendered valuable service to the Canadian forces. Later he was transferred to the 18th Battalion, and was mentioned in despatches by General Haig. Major McCrimmon enlisted from the 32nd Bruce Regiment, Canadian militia, in which he held a commission. He was born at Kincardine, Ont., on October 16, 1890, the son of Dr. John McCrimmon, Med. ’78, and a brother of Lieut. Murray McCrimmon, Arts ’16, Med. ’18. After spending two years at the University of Toronto, Major McCrimmon entered the Faculty of Arts in 1913. He was prominent in student activities at the University, holding, among other offices, a post on the editorial staff of the McGill Daily. In June he was invalided to Canada on leave.
