He immigrated to Canada in 1913. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 24, his occupation is listed as farm labourer in Erin, Wellington, Ontario, Canada. He died on 11 October 1918, in Iwuy, Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France, at the age of 26, and was buried in Niagara Cemetery, Iwuy, Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.
