LUCAS — Edward (Ted), 75, 30 Watermill St., Kingsville, died at his home Sunday, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Cheshire, England and came to Kingsville 57 years ago. He was a charter and life member of Branch 188, Royal Canadian Legion, a member of St. George Lodge 41 A.F. and A.M. and Concord Lodge 142 IOOF. He was a member of the Church of the Epipahny, Kingsville. Mr. Lucas served with the 18th Battalion as a company sergeant-major in the First World War and with the Second Battalion Essex-Scottish in the Second World War. Surviving are his wife, May; sons Harold and Victor of Kingsville; daughters Mrs. W. B. (Mary) Downey of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Wilbur (Gwendolyn) Monk, Kingsville, Mrs. William (Margaret) Moss, Windsor; brothers, Frank in England, Isaac, Winnipeg, Charles of Sioux Lookout; sister Mrs. Michael T. Scratch, Kingsville; 23 grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Funeral, Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Dodson-Habkirk Funeral Home, Kingsville, with Rev. R. W. B. Coupland, officiating. Burial, Greenhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church of the Epiphany Memorial Fund.
