Family Search: Private James Hamilton Norwood was born on 5 November 1893, in Belfast, Ireland, as the son of Samuel Norwood and Alice Parks. He immigrated to Canada in 1913. He registered for military service in 1914. In 1914, at the age of 21, his occupation is listed as farmer. He died on 15 September 1916, in Courcelette, Somme, France, at the age of 22, and was buried in Serre Road Cemetery No 2, Hébuterne, Pas-de-Calais, France.
