Pte Daniel Attewell, Service # 880115 lived at 85 Edgar Street, Chatham, Ontario with his wife listed as next of kin at same address. Born in Hampshire England on May 2nd 1881 (actually 1880 is true year). Immigrated in May 1914 with wife Mary Elizabeth, and 4 children; Frederick George, Kathleen Lydia, William Daniel, and Thomas. His occupation was listed as a coachman (rail station). Enlisted in Chatham on May 2nd 1916 on his 35th birthday. 186th and 18th Battalions. Daniel died May 3, 1938, one day after his birthday, with one cause mentioned – pleurisy, due to military service. He survived to come home, but the Great War eventually took him. RIP Pte Attewell, you are remembered.
