This soldier may have jumped off the paddle-wheeled steamer the Battalion was being transported on when a British Navy destroyer rammed it by accident. Nine soldier thought the steamer was sinking and jumped aboard the destroyer. The Battalion disembarked at Boulogne, France. This soldier disembarked at Harve, France.
