Family Search: Lieutenant Ralph Cecil Sheridan was born on 16 March 1889, in Sutton, Brome, Quebec, Canada as the son of James H. Sheridan and Jennie M. Searles. He married Anne Noon Ward on 21 February 1922, in Niagara, Niagara, New York, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in New York City, New York, United States in 1911. He registered for military service in 1911. In 1914, at the age of 25, his occupation is listed as boilermaker. He died on 2 January 1956, in Sutton, Brome, Quebec, Canada, at the age of 66, and was buried in Fairmount Cemetery, Sutton, Brome-Missisquoi, Quebec, Canada.

One of the more colourful service records I have reviewed. Ralph Cecil Sheridan, reg. no. 53504 rose to the rank of lieutenant from the ranks and earned the Military and Medal with Bar from his actions in the Somme.

But, he wrote some bad cheques later in his service career and was convicted for this and cashiered, losing his position in the army and serving time.
