Enlisted Nov. 4, 1914 at Clinton, Ontario in the 18th Battalion and served in England and France. Wounded in 1916. Demobilized July 6, 1919 with rank of Corporal.
Previous military service: Canadian Militia 3 yrs
Birth: 16 Sept 1882 at Seaforth, Ontario. Army Medical Case Sheet in 1919 indicate age as 40 years.
Next-of-kin: William Kyle, father, at Seaforth; Mrs. G. Strong, sister, at Seaforth.

Son of William Kyle and Isabella McEwen.
Hugh McEwen Kyle and Dorothy Robinson were married at North Vancouver, B.C. on Dec. 6, 1919. Hugh was living at Cartwright, Manitoba at this time, where he farmed. The 1921 Roblin, Manitoba census shows that Hugh and Dorothy had a one year old daughter, Carrie.
