Enlisted with the 135th Overseas Battalion and was transferred to the 18th Battalion where he served until he was gassed. After his convalescence, he was attached to the 3rd Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Corps.

“Died of Wounds” This soldier was with his Company at No. 1 Camp, Walrus, when he was severely wounded by the explosion of a bomb dropped by an enemy Aeroplane. He was at once attended to and evacuated to No. 23 Casualty Clearing Station where he succumbed to his wounds.
