He died on 25 June 1954, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 74, and was buried in York Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

This soldier enlisted with the 18th Battalion, London, Ontario, on January 13, 1915. He was originally assigned to the 33rd Battalion but was transferred to the 18th Battalion.. He served with the Battalion until he was taken in late April 1916. He served the rest of the war in England, earning a Good Conduct Badge and the rank of Acting Sergeant in 1918.
