Family Search: When Private Robert Downey Finnigan was born on 10 December 1889, in Ballygomartin, Shankill, County Antrim, Ireland, his father, Patrick Finnegan, was 35 and his mother, Mary Jane Downey, was 28. He immigrated to Port Huron, St. Clair, Michigan, United States in 1924 and lived in Suffolk, Drumbeg, County Antrim, Ireland for about 10 years and Forrest, Elton Rural Municipality, Manitoba, Canada in 1924. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1924, at the age of 34, his occupation is listed as sign painter. He died on 22 April 1925, in Pontiac, Oakland, Michigan, United States, at the age of 35, and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontiac, Oakland, Michigan, United States.
