He died on 10 July 1967, in Ontario, Canada, at the age of 89, and was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, West McGillivray, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada.

Recovered from his wounds, he returned to the 18th Battalion in the field on 17 December 1917.
He earned the Military Medal.
He was discharged due to demobilization on 4 July 1919 at Quebec City, Quebec.
Both of his sons served in World War 2.
