Family Search: When Sergeant George Alfred Cook was born on 4 June 1883, in Melksham, Wiltshire, England, United Kingdom, his father, John Charles Cook, was 26 and his mother, Ellen Cottle, was 25. He married Elizabeth Isabel Morton on 24 December 1912, in London, Ontario, Canada West, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 6 daughters. He immigrated to Canada in 1913 and lived in St George the Martyr Southwark, Southwark, London, England, United Kingdom for about 10 years. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1916, at the age of 33, his occupation is listed as brass worker in London, Ontario, Canada. He died on 10 April 1938, in London, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 54, and was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, West McGillivray, North Middlesex, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada.

This soldier enlisted with the 70th Battalion at London, Ontario on September 16, 1915. He went overseas and was transferred to the 18th Battalion on August 29, 1916, after arriving in England in May. He served with the Battalion until October 12, 1916. After leaving the Battalion he spent time in medical care until he was returned to Canada and discharged on May 14, 1919, at London, Ontario.
