He married Ellen Mary Hodges on 10 April 1920, in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. He lived in Ontario, Canada in 1891 and Elgin, Ontario, Canada for about 10 years. He died in October 1961, at the age of 70, and was buried in Saint Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada.
