HUNTER – Funeral services for John Hunter, 115 St. George St., Chatham, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the John G. Stephen Funeral Home. Rev. L. J. Patterson of Holy Trinity Church will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Leaf Cemetery. Tonight services will be held by Maple City Chapter No. 17, Order of the Eastern Star at 7 p.m., followed by services under the auspices of Parthenon Lodge 267 A.F. and A.M., at 8 p.m.
Mr. Hunter died suddenly at his home after suffering a heart attack.
Mr. Hunter had been a foreman with the British Sugar Company and the Canada and Dominion Sugar Company for 48 years. He retired in 1946. Mr. Hunter was active in Masonic circles. He was a member of Parthenon Lodge, No. 267 A.F. and A.M., a member of Wellington Chapter Kent Preceptory, Mocha Temple Shrine, London, Chatham Lodge of Perfection, the Rose Croix Chapter, Windsor; Maple City Chapter O. E. S. and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Mr. Hunter was a member of Holy Trinity Church.
He is survived by his widow, the former Venus Lewis, two daughters, Miss Thelma Hunter and Miss Bessie Hunter, both of Chatham.
