He arrived in England on 4 March 1918 aboard the SS Cretic and was transferred to the 4th Canadian Reserve Battalion the next day at Bramshott Camp. He was transferred for active combat duty on 18 August 1918 and arrived “in the field” on 28 August 1918.

Private Morneau served the rest of the war with the 18th Battalion and was demobilized at London, Ontario on 24 May 1919.
