He married Martha Jarman on 27 November 1919, in Highgate, Kent, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters. He lived in London, Ontario, Canada in 1922 and Sandwich East Township, Essex, Ontario, Canada in 1931. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 28, his occupation is listed as labourer. He died on 15 March 1956, in Highgate, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 68, and was buried in Gosnell Cemetery, Highgate, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada.
