Family Search: When Sapper William Beach was born on 1 April 1892, in Chadsmoor, Staffordshire, England, his father, John Beach, was 35 and his mother, Fanny Alice White, was 29. He immigrated to Canada in 1913 and lived in Cannock, Staffordshire, England, United Kingdom for about 10 years. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 23, his occupation is listed as labourer. He died on 26 September 1916, in Courcelette, Somme, Picardie, France, at the age of 24.

Served with 18th from 15 November 1915 to 8 May 1916. Transferred to 7th Field Company, Canadian Engineers.
