Family Search: When Private Norval Delbert Bell was born on 5 January 1893, in Brant, Ontario, Canada, his father, William Andrew Bell, was 31 and his mother, Fannie Wilton, was 28. He lived in Bruce, Ontario, Canada for about 10 years. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 23, his occupation is listed as cheesemaker. He died on 2 September 1918, in France, at the age of 25, and was buried in Dury Mill British Cemetery, Dury, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.

Temporarily assigned to 18th Battalion. Served with the 78th Battalion and was killed in action on the same day as his brother, Clifford. The served in the same battalion.

“Killed in ACtion” While advancing towards the objective this soldier was hit in the stomach by a piece of enemy shrapnel. His wound was dressed but he died shortly afterwards.
