He married Edith Violet Barker on 14 September 1911, in Port Hope, Durham, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He lived in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada in 1901 and Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States in 1910. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 25, his occupation is listed as accountant. He died on 8 April 1916, in Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium, at the age of 25, and is commemorated in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and at the Menin Gate, Belgium.
