"Killed in Action" While on sentry duty in the front line trenches about 9 P.M. on February 24th, 1916, he was shot through the neck by an enemy bullet. A stretcher bearer gave him immediate attention but he died about 5 minutes after being hit. NORTH WEST OF WYTSCHAETE.
