Family Search: Private Seymour George English was born on 24 July 1889, in Torquay, Torbay, Devon, England, United Kingdom as the son of Joseph English and Emily. He immigrated to Canada in 1915. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 26, his occupation is listed as mine motor man. He died on 28 May 1917, in Willerval, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France, at the age of 27, and was buried in Arleux-en-Gohelle, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.

Pte. Seymour G. English lived at Erindale before he enlisted in Toronto, September 1915, with a battalion that went overseas the following April. Now, after ten months service in the trenches, he is reported to have been killed. Pte. English was born in England 27 years ago, and was unmarried. His relatives are in England.
