Family Search: When Private Angus Garrod was born on 21 January 1888, in Clayton, West Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom, his father, Jesse Garrod, was 24 and his mother, Mary Garrod, was 25. He immigrated to Saint John, St. John, New Brunswick, Canada in 1910. He registered for military service in 1914. In 1914, at the age of 26, his occupation is listed as labourer. He died on 10 April 1916, in Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium, at the age of 28.

Pte. Angus Garrod, of Sarnia, killed, was an old British navy man and had seen much previous service.
