Family Search: Private Joseph Green was born on 2 November 1884, in Belfast, Ireland as the son of Joseph Green. He immigrated to Buffalo, Erie, New York, United States in 1908. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1914, at the age of 30, his occupation is listed as carriage painter. He died on 8 April 1916, in Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium, at the age of 31, and was buried in Voormezele, West Flanders, Belgium.

Three London men killed and nine wounded in the official casualty report of last night and this morning from Ottawa. In addition there are many others on the list from Western Ontario. No less than three of Windsor’s sons are mentioned as killed in action.

Pte. Joseph Greene [Green], who was killed, enlisted here with the 18th Battalion, coming from Capt. Prince’s company.
