Family Search: When Private Oxley Harold Hannent was born on 12 January 1898, in Norwich, Norfolk, England, United Kingdom, his father, Oxley Harold Hannent, was 26 and his mother, Alice Emily Stangroom, was 24. He immigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia, British Colonial America in 1912. He registered for military service in 1916. In 1916, at the age of 18, his occupation is listed as farmer in Clinton, Huron, Ontario, Canada. He died on 28 August 1918, in Arras, Pas-de-Calais, France, at the age of 20, and was buried in Pas-de-Calais, France.
His father, Private Oxley Harold Hannent, Sr., reg. no. 654848 enlisted as well with the 161st Battalion.
