Family Search: Private Walter Hogg was born on 26 November 1890, in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom as the son of Walter Hogg and A. T. Hogg. He immigrated to Canada in 1913. He registered for military service in 1914. In 1914, at the age of 24, his occupation is listed as locomotive fireman. He died on 15 September 1916, in Courcelette, Somme, France, at the age of 25, and was buried in Vimy, Pas-de-Calais, France.
