In 1914, at the age of 25, his occupation is listed as teamster. He died on 15 September 1916, in Courcelette, Somme, France, at the age of 27, and was buried in Vimy, Pas-de-Calais, France.

This man enlisted at London, Ontario, on 7 December 1914. He was a teamster, single and practiced the Anglican faith. He had prior military experience with the 36th Regiment.

As a member of the 18th Battalion, he went overseas aboard the SS Grampian, leaving Halifax, Nova Scoti, arriving at Avonmouth on 29 April 1915.

He went overseas with the Battalion on 15 September 1915 and served in Belgium (Ieper Sector) and in France, being killed in action due to unknown circumstances on 15 September 1915 at the Battle of Flers-Courcelette.

He has no known grave and is commemorated at the memorial at Vimy Ridge.
