Family Search: When Corporal Walter Gordon Kent was born on 3 March 1888, in Walkerville, Windsor, Sandwich Township, Essex, Ontario, Canada, his father, Henry Kent, was 45 and his mother, Dorcas Collihol, was 45. He lived in Essex, Ontario, Canada in 1901. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 27, his occupation is listed as oiler. He died on 15 September 1916, in Courcelette, Somme, Picardie, France, at the age of 28.

PTE. W.G. KENT, whose sister lives at 19 Clarendon avenue, reported to-day as killed, enlisted with a unit from Windsor, and has been in the trenches for a year. His home was at Walkerville, but before enlistment, he was with the Royal North-West Mounted Police.
