Family Search: When Private Henry Frank Luff was born on 17 February 1896, in Iping, Sussex, England, United Kingdom, his father, Frank Luff, was 26 and his mother, Alice Luff/Puttick, was 26. He immigrated to Canada in 1913. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 19, his occupation is listed as farmer in Chatham, Kent, Ontario, Canada. He died on 11 November 1917, in Passendale, West Flanders, Belgium, at the age of 21, and was buried in Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium.

Luff, George Walter:  Service no. 189561 was his brother he survived the war dying in 1972.

This soldier enlisted with the 91st Battalion on 6 December at St. Thomas, Ontario with his brother George Walter Luff.

His reg. no. is 189560 and his brother’s was 189561.

He embarked to England via Halifax on 25 March 1917 arriving at Liverpool on 7 April 1917. He served in England until he was transferred to the 18th Battalion on 24 August 1917.

He arrived “in the field” at the 18th Battalion 5 September 1917 and was killed in action on 11 November 1917.
