Family Search: Sapper Joseph Nicholls was born on 2 April 1879, in Arkona, Lambton, Ontario, Canada as the son of Father Nicholls and Mother Nicholls. He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 36, his occupation is listed as lumberjack. He died on 22 February 1920, in London, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 40, and was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, West McGillivray, North Middlesex, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada.
