Family Search: When Sergeant James Reid was born on 2 March 1891, in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, his father, George Reid, was 27 and his mother, Rachel Gault, was 26. He immigrated to Canada in 1913. He registered for military service in 1914. In 1914, at the age of 23, his occupation is listed as carpenter. He died on 15 August 1917, in Lens, Pas-de-Calais, France, at the age of 26, and was buried in Vimy, Pas-de-Calais, France.
