He registered for military service in 1915. In 1915, at the age of 22, his occupation is listed as teamster in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada. He died on 25 January 1917, in Pernes, Pas-de-Calais, France, at the age of 23.
PTE. R.W. SHORT DIED
Pte. Robert W. Short reported died of wounds, roomed at Mrs. Thomas Russell’s residence, 375 King street west. He was born in London, England and came to Toronto four years ago. Before enlisting in the 124th Battalion he was a baker and was 22 years old.
